5-Minute Yoga Flow to Improve Core Strength

Are you feeling the need to engage your core muscles but can’t find the time in your busy schedule? Look no further! This 5-minute yoga flow is designed to improve core strength efficiently, combining simplicity and effectiveness to fit into your daily routine.

1. **Cat-Cow Pose (Marjaryasana-Bitilasana)**: Begin on your hands and knees in a tabletop position. Inhale as you drop your belly towards the mat, lifting your head and tailbone for Cow Pose. Exhale as you round your spine towards the ceiling, tucking your chin to your chest for Cat Pose. This movement warms up the spine and engages the core muscles.

2. **Plank Pose (Phalakasana)**: From the tabletop position, extend your legs back, bringing your body into a straight line from head to heels. Engage your core by drawing your belly button towards your spine. Hold this pose for 30 seconds to a minute, focusing on steady breaths.

3. **Boat Pose (Navasana)**: Sit on the mat with your knees bent and feet flat on the ground. Lean back slightly, keeping your spine straight. Lift your feet off the ground, bringing your shins parallel to the floor. Extend your arms forward, parallel to the ground. Hold this pose, feeling the burn in your core muscles, for 30 seconds to a minute.

4. **Side Plank Pose (Vasisthasana)**: Return to Plank Pose. Shift your weight to your right hand and the outer edge of your right foot. Stack your left foot on top and raise your left arm towards the ceiling, forming a straight line. Hold for 30 seconds, then switch to the other side. This pose targets the oblique muscles for a well-rounded core workout.

5. **Bridge Pose (Setu Bandhasana)**: Lie on your back with your knees bent and feet hip-width apart. Press your feet into the ground and lift your hips towards the ceiling, engaging your core and glutes. Hold for 30 seconds, then lower back down.

This 5-minute routine can be performed anytime, whether it’s a morning energizer or a midday break. Consistency is key—practice regularly to see improvements in your core strength.
